These forums are open to new posts. The purpose of each is explained below.
This is our central forum for wine conversation. Wide ranging wine discussions, from latest buying tips, to the thoroughly pedantic. Please note: this is not an "all purpose" forum, but is limited to "on topic" threads regarding wine. See other forums for other issues like restaurants, food pairings, movies, wine trades, etc. Off topic posts are subject to deletion.

Use this forum for off-topic discussions, and as a "kitchen sink" for things that are not WINE TALK, or the topics of the other forums. Wine folks become quite friendly and want to expand their conversations--when they go off-topic, from board procedure, to gossip, put 'em here. Political threads are not allowed in this or any forum as it is beyond the scope of this site.

Those of us who travel a lot are often looking for one precious and sometimes scarce resource--restaurants that allow BYO, either free or for corkage. Post your picks here. PLEASE START EACH THREAD BY STATE (or if outside the USA, province, etc.) NAME FOLLOWED BY CITY & RESTAURANT FOR EASY SEARCHES AND BROWSING, such as, \\"Pennsylvania, Philadelphia: Joe's.\\" Remember to adjust the number of days of notes to view when casually browsing.

Archives
All Wine Talk threads are eventually archived in chronological order in the various Bulk Archive forums. Other archive forums collect threads of particular interest. These forums are READ ONLY.
This archive stores threads from the guest appearances of famous wine folks for posterity. Each guest has a separate sub-forum. Remember to use the drop down box in the lower left corner to "show all threads" from the beginning. The guests are roughly alphabetized by Last Name.

Some things of interest from Wine Talk, occasionally and sporadically archived in this forum. This forum used to be called "Miscellaneous." NOTE: Sometimes after a thread is archived here it becomes active again, so some of the threads here may be incomplete. Complete copies can always be found (if need be) in the Bulk Archives (if archived), or Wine Talk (if active).
